As an EU-based beacon of privacy standards, we diligently adhere to the General Data Processing Regulation (GDPR), ePrivacy Directive, and all related privacy laws to safeguard your personal information.

In our Privacy Statement, we lay bare the specifics of our data handling practices: the ‘when’, ‘why’, and ‘how’ of collecting and utilizing your personal information. This isn’t just fine print – it’s our pact with you for transparency and respect. We encourage you to take a moment and walk through this page, as it’s carefully crafted to inform you about your precious data and rights.

Understanding Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

PII is the data that makes you, uniquely you. This includes any information that can pinpoint who you are, either on its own or when combined with other details. Think of it as pieces of a puzzle – your email, home address, name, or IP address – that, when put together, reveal your identity.

Our Processing Activities - The “When” and “Why” we use your data

Your information has a clear purpose with us: addressing your inquiries, processing job applications, or managing correspondence. There’s no marketing agenda, and your data stays off the third-party radar for any unrelated processing.

Contact and correspondence 📩

Whether it’s a call, an email, or a message through our contact form, your communication lines are open. In these interactions, we may process the following personal information:

  • First and last name
  • (Business) e-mail address
  • (Business) telephone number
  • Name of your organization
  • Any information you share with us in your message

We use this information to properly handle your request, to contact you and to carry out the steps that are agreed with you. The foundation of our processing of your data hinges on three pillars: your consent, the necessity to fulfill an agreement with you, or our legitimate interest in maintaining contact. This information is stored only for as long as it is needed to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or to comply with legal requirements. For instance, in a contractual relationship, we retain your data for the duration of the contract. Certain types of information, like invoice and payment details, are kept for a legally mandated period.

Applying for a job at NaaS 🦸

When you apply for a position with us, your personal information is an integral part of the process. The personal information we process is the information related to your application such as your:

  • First and last name

  • Address

  • Telephone number

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Application or motivation letter

  • Salary indication
  • References

  • Other information that you have enclosed with your application and/or shared with us within the scope of the job application process.

The purpose of processing this personal information is to offer you a job and/or an internship at Nerd as a Service. If you are hired, we will save your personal information and enter into an employment contract with you. If you are not hired, we will delete your personal information four weeks after completion of the application process. If we have your permission to retain your personal information for one year, then your information will be deleted after one year instead of four weeks.

The legal basis for this processing activity is the preparation for the possible conclusion of an employment contract.

Cookies, Trackers, Web Beacons - No tracking, just functionality 🍪

We stick to only the essential cookies needed for the website’s functionality. Rest assured, we steer clear of any technologies that track user behavior for marketing, analytics, or any other non-essential purposes. Our digital footprint is as minimal as it gets, ensuring your online journey with us is both smooth and private.

Sharing your Personal Information with Third Parties - Only when necessary

At Nerd as a Service, we do not trade or indiscriminately share your data. The only time we may pass on your details to third parties is when it’s necessary and in line with data protection laws.

Your personal information may also be processed by carefully selected and verified professional service providers with whom we cooperate for example for managing human resources processes or financial services. We entrust this information to them under stringent data processing conditions, ensuring they handle your details with the same care and purpose that we do, within the specific context needed.

Other third parties

Your personal information may also be processed by other third parties in incidental cases. These instances are rare and not part of our regular operations. They occur only under specific circumstances, such as if we are legally obliged to share information with authorities for investigations or law enforcement purposes.

Safeguarding Your Data: Our security measures 🦸

At Nerd as a Service your personal data’s security isn’t just a policy; it’s a core principle. We employ robust and comprehensive measures to shield your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our commitment to data protection is exemplified by our ISO27001 certification. This isn’t just a badge – it’s a testament to our ongoing dedication to meticulously maintaining a top-tier information security management system.

Right to information

Curious about your data in our hands? Ask us. You’re entitled to know if we process your personal information, why we do it, and where it came from. Plus, get a free copy of your data. Need additional copies? A nominal fee may apply. We reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee for any additional copies you may request.

Right to correct your personal information

We use appropriate efforts to keep your information correct and up to date. If you spot any errors in your data, let us know so we can make the necessary updates.

Right to deletion

You may request us to delete your personal information. We shall honor your request, unless we have legitimate reasons to retain your personal information. For example, if we need to comply with legal retention periods or if we want to exercise a legal claim.

Right to restriction of processing

You may request that we (temporarily) restrict the processing of your personal information. For example, in case you dispute the correctness of the information and want us to stop processing that information for the period of time we need to check the correctness of the information.

Right to data transferability

If we process your personal information based on your consent or based on the performance of a contract with you, you may request us to transfer your personal information to another party (insofar technically possible). Right to object

If we process your personal information based on our legitimate interests, you may object to this. We shall reevaluate our rights and legitimate grounds for processing and your interests, rights, and freedoms to establish whether or not we can honor your request.
